Well, as March came in like the proverbial lamb, with sunshine, flowers and happiness, so it exits the UK like a lion. Temperatures in the mild and sheltered Thames Valley were hovering above freezing this morning, but in the woolly wilds of Western Scotland, the snow was shovelin' down. John checks in twice a day from the few spots he can get a mobile signal, and this morning reported frozen bird-baths, grey mist over the loch, and a steady blanket of snow falling from the clouds, amongst which were hiding the peaks of the nearby mountains.
