John's big fieldtrip

Put John on a train for Gatwick Airport at 5.50 this morning. He will fly to Inverness and then get bussed to the Isle of Skye for 12 days of geological mapping (and hopefully occasional whiskey tasting). He did not take the camera, so I don't know if there will be any pictures! If he takes some with his phone then we will put them up when he gets home on the 7th.

Only the knowledge that it will likely be about 35F and raining most of the time keeps me from insurmountable envy!
